Did you know that TED Talks have transcripts for every single one of their 1,658 talks? Did you also know that Tableau can create word clouds? Until last week I didn’t either, so I decided to make a word cloud to find the most popular words in every TED Talk combined.
After 377 hours and 1,218,042 words worth of data later, the results for the most frequent 500 words are below (use the filter to zoom in and out):
My next post will cover the process I used to gather and format the data using RapidMiner and then visualise it using Tableau (I’ll try and find a way to make the text bigger too).
Are there any words that you didn’t expect to be present or that one is more popular than another? Join the Facebook group and let me know.
